I didn’t really expect the aconite to work. So I was shocked when I saw Sunny Boy in the trailer: he was so calm, the calmest animal I’ve ever transported. We had arrived at the abattoir after 80 minutes on the road. Experience tells me how stressful that is for most cattle, so on this morning I had decided to squirt homeopathic aconite, a remedy for fear, onto his muzzle, as we set off. I’m glad I did.
Of course there may be other factors involved but I will definitely be repeating the experiment next time.
We use herbal washes and homeopathy for most problems with our cattle and hens, learning as we go.
