Beef from old cows is the holy grail of beef. The Basque region of Spain is famous for its steak restaurants which serve meat from cows up to 20 years old.
These old ladies are mostly retired dairy cows who are allowed to fatten on grass for a couple of years before being slaughtered.
We have some minced top side available from a 14 year old cow who was with us since 2013. The mince has a wonderful beef flavour and is the the colour of red wine: it is simply wonderful.
Like all our beef, it is 100% grass fed and was reared on our certified organic farm.
